Our guild provides kits at the monthly meetings for members to make up into quilts for wounded Marines at Camp Pendleton Marine Base, and newborn babies at the Naval Hospital at Camp Pendleton.
The kits include fabric for front and back, binding, and batting. Some kits require tops to be pieced and others do not. Members are expected to complete 2 quilts per year.
We regularly receive letters from the C.A.R.E.S. (Caring, Assistance, & Resources in Emergency Situations) program at Camp Pendleton, thanking us for our contribution of baby quilts to military newborns. A recent letter expressed the sentiments from Vicki K. Miller, Treasurer of the program.
